MLDYoga Yang is a strong hatha based yoga practice incorporating static and flowing asanas to increase strength, flexibility and stamina.  This practice has relaxing meditation music and will leave you physically worked and mentally refreshed helping you focus with a feeling of serenity. In this class we will work on a wide range of yoga poses and yoga styles incorporating meditation and breathing.

MLDYoga Yin is a still style of yoga where we usually hold each pose between 1 - 5 minutes. This stillness aided by the breath and meditation allows the energy to penetrate deeper, which targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised that much in a more active style of yoga. As my students become more experienced, we increase the length of time we hold the poses for which equals more energy flow and an increase in long term flexibility. During this practice I guide my students through meditations and challenge emotions. All students should think of this yoga practice as working the mind first and allowing the physical aspect to become second! MLDYoga Yin is aided with the use of props to support the body and relaxation music to channel the mind. This class will leave you physically worked and mentally refreshed helping you focus with a feeling of serenity or a deeper emotional connection.

MLDYoga Nidra is a class where we explore yogic sleep - a state of consciousness between being awake and asleep. The two paths of deep relaxation and mediation come together to form a state of consciousness. This class is suitable for anyone, you just need to be able to lie down in savasana or sit in easy pose for the duration of the class whilst we try to find this consciousness which will take us to our self beyond the ego. This guided class will enable you to learn about yourself a little more each time you do the practice, reduce stress, promote healthier sleep and general wellbeing.

Mark is Yoga Alliance trained/registered and his teaching styles include: Hot, Yin, Yang, Hatha Yoga and Yoga Nidra. Mark has also completed yoga training with Special Yoga in Yoga & Mindfulness for Children with Autism and ADHD and along with Chair yoga for the elderly and less abled. Mark has also completed yoga training in Freestyle Fitness Yoga under the Jayne Nichols Academy. Mark has been teaching yoga since March 2003. "Yoga is literally for everyone, anyone can do it, regardless of age, shape, sex or agenda. Everybody's journey within yoga is completely different and I truly believe there is nothing out there like it, it caters to your physical, mental and emotional form, after all it takes all of those three to make a fit person. I strive to make sure all my yoga classes are infused with a mind, body, soul aspect and yoga philosophy. My motto - Love, Inspiration, Freedom, Energy... LIFE".

Mark has a rare combination of gifts as a yoga teacher and I feel very lucky to have found him.  I have been going to his classes for over two years and I can honestly say that they have had a hugely positive effect on my yoga/life journey. His classes always feel special, he encourages us to work hard physically and mentally, all the time teaching us to be respectful of our bodies.  They are fun, challenging and always different.  He puts a lot if thought into them and builds on what we have practiced before but always with something new, something which makes us think!  He is kind and respectful to everyone in the class whatever age or ability. MLDYoga Yin

Having practiced yoga for 5 years with a wide variety of teachers, I can honestly say that Mark is an exceptional teacher whose knowledge and passion shines through. Mark structures his classes each week to take a different focus, stretching and challenging you whatever your ability, whilst encouraging you to be respectful of your body. In Yin Yoga, the poses are held for a longer period of time increasing flexibility in that particular area of the body. Coming from a dance background I have always loved the physical benefits with the sensation of the limbs being elongated and the joints oiled. However, what has come as more of a surprise is my gradual appreciation of the philosophical aspects of Yin and the calming and revitalising benefits it brings. MLDYoga (SEN) Special Education Needs

Mark has recently run a yoga course with my pupils all of whom have a diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder.  The pupils are aged 16 to 19 and have mixed abilities with some verbal and non-verbal young adults.  His sessions are well structured, relaxing and enjoyable for all abilities.  Mark is patient and kind when supporting pupils in the sessions and has a vast knowledge of yoga.  The progress pupils have made has been a joy to watch with them developing each and every week.  The sessions have been so worthwhile and you can visibly see how the pupils are more relaxed after each session.  This has also extended beyond the yoga sessions with some pupils working on relaxation techniques in the school day if they begin to feel anxious.  I cannot recommend Mark’s sessions highly enough.
